What I Got: Mediterranean Breakfast Bowl, Jessi Eggplant Caprese Panini, Seasonal Cookies

Review:

Maman is a bakery and café with many locations throughout NYC.  All of their food is delicious and of great quality.  It is the perfect spot for a flavorful yet quick breakfast, brunch, or sweet treat.

Mediterranean Breakfast Bowl – The Mediterranean Breakfast Bowl includes baby spinach, quinoa, hummus, roasted tomatoes, cucumber, feta, kalamata olives, and a hard boiled egg with balsamic dressing.  This is an amazing, protein filled vegetarian bowl.  The nutty quinoa is the perfect base for the bowl along with the crisp, fresh spinach.  Hummus is always my favorite part of a Mediterranean bowl, and Maman gives a wonderfully generous amount.  The creamy hummus compliments the tangy kalamata olives and gorgeous wedge of feta cheese.  The cucumber is refreshing and crunchy which contrasts the soft, juicy roasted tomatoes.  The rich hard boiled egg makes the bowl extra delicious and satisfying.  The balsamic dressing is bright and subtly sweet, complimenting the flavors in the bowl and bringing everything together.  All the ingredients are fresh and blend together beautifully with their uniquely Mediterranean flavor.  This is my favorite bowl for a brunch or late breakfast.  

Jessi Eggplant Caprese Panini – The Jessi Eggplant Caprese Panini is a fall seasonal sandwich that includes eggplant, smoked mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, and basil aioli on seeded sourdough bread.  If you are a fan of eggplant like I am, you must try this sandwich.  The eggplant is tender and flavorful.  The mozzarella is melty and warm alongside the juicy, sweet roasted tomatoes.  The basil aioli is creamy and savory and compliments the eggplant, mozzarella, and tomato perfectly.  The sourdough bread has a gorgeous grill that gives the sandwich a complex subtle charred flavor.  This is a warm and comforting sandwich that is perfect as the weather begins to get cold in the fall.

Seasonal Cookies – Maman has a variety of amazing baked goods.  They are especially known for their cookies.  The chocolate chip cookies (one of “Oprah’s Favorite Things) are always available, but the seasonal cookies are unique and delicious as well.  My favorite seasonal cookie is the pistachio cherry cookie.  The cookie is chewy and soft with genuine sweet, earthy pistachio flavor.  The cherry preserves on top of the cookie compliment the pistachio cookie with their sweet, tart, fruity flavor.  If I am craving a fresh cookie, I will always stop by Maman to see what seasonal cookies they have.  They never disappoint.
