What I Got: La Broadway, La Truffle, Nutella Sandwich

Review:

All’Antico Vinaio is an authentic Italian sandwich shop in NYC.  All of their sandwiches are made on fresh, warm schiacciata drizzled with olive oil and filled with fresh, quality Italian ingredients.  They have sandwiches both with and without meat.  If you are craving an indulgent sandwich, this is the place to go!

La Broadway – La Broadway includes pistachio cream, stracciatella, sundried tomato, spicy zucchini, and arugula.  The spicy zucchini is tender and juicy with a delicious peppery kick.  The stracciatella cheese is amazingly creamy with its rich, milky flavor.  My favorite part is the pistachio cream.  It is rich and buttery with an incredible nutty, earthy flavor with a hint of sweetness.  It blends beautifully with the stracciatella and compliments the other ingredients.  The sun dried tomato cuts through the rich cheese and pistachio with its bright, tangy, and subtly sweet flavor.  The arugula adds a fresh crunch.  The fresh bread is perfectly golden and crisp on the outside with an airy interior.  The drizzle of olive oil makes it rich and flavorful.  This is a unique meat-free sandwich that is comforting and delicious!  The gorgeous pistachio flavor makes it truly special!

La Truffle – La Truffle includes truffle salami, pecorino, arugula, and artichoke cream.  It is a special that can be found intermittently on the menu.  The truffle salami is salty and tender with a rich, satisfying savory truffle flavor.  The pecorino is a slightly softer pecorino that melts in your mouth with its sharp and salty flavors.  I absolutely love the light, refreshing artichoke cream.  It is so unique and delicious.  The crisp, spicy arugula and velvety artichoke cream cut through the rich flavors to balance out the sandwich.   The gorgeous bread brings everything together.  If you are a truffle lover, this is the sandwich for you!

Nutella Sandwich – The Nutella Sandwich includes Nutella, mascarpone, and crushed hazelnuts.  It is a special that is available intermittently throughout the year.  The fresh, warm bread with its pillowy interior and crisp exterior is slathered in nutty, melty, chocolatey Nutella that is balanced by the creamy, refreshing mascarpone.  The crushed hazelnuts add a satisfying crunch to the smooth Nutella and mascarpone.  The bread is lightly salted giving the sandwich an incredible sweet and salty flavor.   All Nutella lovers MUST get one when they are available.  It is divine!
