Review:
Truffle Melt – The Truffle Melt includes roasted broccoli and tomato, truffle coconut ricotta, and almond parmesan on a flatbread. I can’t believe the cheese is vegan. It is creamy, melty, and has an incredible truffle flavor that comes through. The broccoli and tomato are roasted to caramelized perfection. The flatbread is soft and delicious. The flavors within the sandwich are incredible together. The only problem is that it is extremely small and quite expensive considering the size. The flavor makes it worth the splurge. I would recommend it as a snack, a very small lunch, or with two sides.
Hot Chicky – This is Beatnic’s vegan version of a fried chicken sandwich. The Hot Chicky includes Super Crispy Jackfruit Chicky, hot sauce, purple slaw, and pickles on a potato bun. The vegan crispy chicken is baked instead of fried, which is a plus. The sandwich tastes just like a delicious fried chicken sandwich. The texture is only slightly different from real chicken. There’s not as much chew to it as real chicken, which I don’t mind. The hot sauce adds a perfect kick of some serious spice to the sandwich. They aren’t kidding when they say hot. The sandwich is a good size. Compared to a regular chicken sandwich it is expensive, but if you want a fried chicken sandwich without the chicken it’s worth it.
Air Baked Sweet Potato Fries with Chipotle Aioli – The sweet potato fries are great. They are crisp and full of sweet potato goodness. The chipotle aioli is a wonderful, subtly sweet and spicy alternative to ketchup that compliments the fries very well.
